NFL Power Rankings Week 10: Eagles, Chiefs, and Ravens round out the Top Three

As the 2023 season progresses, we continue to see teams separate themselves from the rest of the pack. In Week 9, the Ravens, Chiefs, and Texans all won. Lamar Jackson and the Ravens were at home to face Geno Smith and the Seahawks. Baltimore was in control nearly all game long and won 37-3. They’re now 7-2 this season.

Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs were in Germany to face the Miami Dolphins. Kansas City went up big in the first half 21-0, but went scoreless the rest of the game. Luckily, their defense held up and they won 21-14. Additionally, C.J. Stroud and the Texans pulled off an improbable comeback in Week 9 to beat the Bucs. He had 470 passing yards and five passing touchdowns.

Ahead of all the action, here are our Power Rankings for Week 10:

2023 NFL Power Rankings Week 10

Rank Team Super Bowl Odds Notes
1 Philadelphia Eagles

Philadelphia Eagles logo

+550 With a win vs. the Cowboys in Week 9, the Eagles are the first team to reach eight wins in the 2023 season. Philadelphia has some issues they need to get right before the postseason, but the Eagles still look like the top contender in the NFC. Jalen Hurts and the Eagles are on a bye in Week 10 and will play the Chiefs on MNF in Week 11.
2 Kansas City Chiefs

Kansas City Chiefs logo

+525 Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs were in Germany for Week 9 to face the Dolphins. Both teams were 6-2 heading into that contest. In the end, the Chiefs won 21-14 and are one of two teams in the AFC with a 7-2 record. Kansas City is on a bye in Week 10.
3 Baltimore Ravens

Baltimore Ravens logo

+900 Baltimore plays complimentary football and the defense was thriving in Week 9. Their 37-3 win vs. Seattle was their fourth game this season where they held their opponent to less than 10 points. Not to mention they’ve scored 30+ points in each of their last three games. Don’t sleep on the Ravens in 2023.
4 Miami Dolphins

Miami Dolphins logo

+1200 In Week 9, the Dolphins were on the road in Germany to face the Chiefs. Miami’s high-powered offense was held scoreless in the first half. They finished the game with 14 points after two second-half touchdowns. The Dolphins are one of four teams on a bye in Week 10.
5 Jacksonville Jaguars

Jacksonville Jaguars logo

+1800 Trevor Lawrence and the Jacksonville Jaguars were on a bye in Week 9. They won their last game 20-10 vs. the Steelers. In Week 10, the Jaguars will be at home to face a struggling 49ers team. San Francisco won five straight to start the season and have since lost three in a row. The Jags will look to give them a tough fight in Week 10 this Sunday.
6 Detroit Lions

Detroit Lions logo

+1200 Jared Goff and the Lions were on a bye in Week 9 of the 2023 season. In their last game played, Detroit won 26-14 vs. the Raiders. The Lions will be on the road in Week 10 to play Justin Herbert and the Chargers. Detroit is 6-2 this season and are first in the NFC North.
7 San Francisco 49ers

San Francisco 49ers logo

+525 Christian McCaffrey and the 49ers had a bye in Week 9. San Francisco needs to get back on track with a win if they want to win their division this year. After starting the season with five wins in a row, the Niners have lost three straight since then. They’ll have a tough matchup this Sunday on the road vs. Trevor Lawrence and the Jaguars.
8 Cincinnati Bengals

Cincinnati Bengals logo

+900 Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals have won their last four games in a row to have a 5-3 record this season. They’re fighting to earn a playoff berth in 2023. Cincinnati took care of business in Week 9 vs. Buffalo, winning 24-18. The Bengals are back at home in Week 10 to face the Texans who are coming off a massive win in Week 9 vs. the Bucs.
9 Dallas Cowboys

Dallas Cowboys logo

+1200 In Week 9, the Cowboys lost a close one, 28-23 to the Eagles on the road. Dak Prescott barely stepped out of bounds on a two-point conversion that would have made it a three-point deficit. Instead, Dallas had to go for a touchdown on their final drive and failed to get that done. The Cowboys are now 5-3 this season after that loss.
10 Cleveland Browns

Cleveland Browns logo

+3300 Deshaun Watson returned for the Browns in Week 9 for their 27-0 win vs. the Cardinals. The Pro Bowl QB had 219 passing yards and two passing touchdowns vs. Arizona. Cleveland, Pittsburgh, and Cincinnati are all 5-3 in the AFC North and it will be a tough second half of the season. The Browns still have to play the Ravens, Steelers, and Bengals one more in 2023.
11 Buffalo Bills

Buffalo Bills logo

+1800 Josh Allen and the Bills were on the road in Week 9 to face the Bengals. Buffalo’s offense was held in check vs. Cincinnati, only scoring two touchdowns. The Bills are now 5-4 this season and are fighting for their playoff hopes. Allen and the Bills are back at home in Week 10 to face the Broncos on MNF.
12 Pittsburgh Steelers

Pittsburgh Steelers logo

+8000 The Titans and Steelers started Week 9 of the 2023 NFL season on TNF. It was a close matchup that saw Pittsburgh take home the 201-16 win. Jaylen Warren and Najee Harris combined for 157 rushing yards vs. the Titans and the Steelers are now 5-3 this season. Pittsburgh is at home in Week 10 to face Jordan Love and the Green Bay Packers.
13 Seattle Seahawks

Seattle Seahawks logo

+4500 Geno Smith and the Seahawks are a tough team to read in 2023. They’ve had some impressive wins and have also had rough performances. Including their 37-3 loss in Week 9 on the road to the Ravens. Seattle will be back at home in Week 10 to face Sam Howell and the Washington Commanders.
14 Minnesota Vikings

Minnesota Vikings logo

+12500  At the trade deadline, Minnesota acquired Joshua Dobbs from the Cardinals after Kirk Cousins’ injury. He was their emergency QB in Week 9 but quickly had to come into the game after rookie Jaren Hall was injured. Dobbs led the Vikings to an improbable 31-28 win vs. the Falcons. Minnesota is back home in Week 10 to face the Saints in what will be Joshua Dobbs’ first start for the Vikings.
15 Los Angeles Chargers

Los Angeles Chargers logo

+4000 Justin Herbert and the Chargers were on the road in Week 9 to face the Jets. Their offense left a lot to be desired, but turnovers from New York and special teams play won LA the game. The Chargers are now 4-4 this season and will be at home in Week 10 to face Jared Goff and the Detroit Lions.
16 New Orleans Saints

New Orleans Saintslogo

+5000 Derek Carr and the Saints were at home in Week 9 to face the Chicago Bears. It wasn’t the prettiest win, but it did move the Saints to first in the NFC South with a 5-4 record. In Week 10, the Saints will be on the road to face a frisk Vikings team. Joshua Dobbs will be making his first start for Minnesota after a big win in Week 9.
17 New York Jets

New York Jets logo

+7500 Zach Wilson and the Jets were at home on MNF in Week 9 to face the LA Chargers. New York’s defense played an impressive game, but their offense is holding the team back from reaching its full potential. The Jets were held to six points in Week 9 by the Chargers. They’ll be on the road in Week 10 to face the Raiders.
18 Houston Texans

Houston Texans logo

+15000 There was less than a minute on the clock and rookie QB C.J. put together his first game-winning drive in the NFL. He led the Texans to a miraculous 39-37 win vs. the Bucs. He had just under 500 passing yards and had five passing touchdowns. Quite an impressive performance from Stroud and the Texans. Houston is on the road in Week 10 to face the Bengals who are on a four-game win streak.
19 Washington Commanders

Washington Commanders logo

+17500 The Washington Commanders are 4-5 this season after a 20-17 win vs. the Patriots in Week 9. Their defense has the game-sealing interception of Mac Jones. It was his only turnover of the game. Sam Howell had 325 passing yards vs. the Patriots and had one interception. Washington will be on the road in Week 10 to face the Seattle Seahawks.
20 Indianapolis Colts

Indianapolis Colts logo

+25000 In Week 9, the Colts’ Kenny Moore had two interceptions vs. the Panthers. He returned both of those interceptions for touchdowns. Indianapolis won 27-13 with just over 200 yards of total offense in the game. Colts fans can thank Carolina’s Bryce Young for the win. The team will be in Germany for a matchup with the Patriots in Week 9.
21 Atlanta Falcons

Atlanta Falcons logo

+10000 Arthur Smith’s Atlanta Falcons had an extremely tough loss vs. the Vikings in Week 9. They let a QB with little to no experience with Minnesota beat them. Taylor Heinicke got the start over Desmond Ridder in Week 9 and the Falcons said he’ll be the starter in Week 10 as well. The Falcons are on the road to face the Cardinals in Week 10. It will be Kyler Murray’s first start of the season.
22 Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Tampa Bay Buccaneers logo

+15000 Baker Mayfield and the Bucs are coming off a tough loss in Week 9. They scored a touchdown with less than a minute left but only had a four-point lead. There was just enough time left on the clock for Houston to put together a game-winning drive vs. the Bucs. Tampa Bay is not 3-5 and they’ve lost four in a row. The Bucs are back at home in Week 10 to face the Tennessee Titans.
23 Las Vegas Raiders

Las Vegas Raiders logo

+20000 Josh McDaniels was fired by the Raiders and that gave the team new life in Week 9. They hated McDaniels and were happy to see him leave. Las Vegas rallied behind their interim head coach Antonio Pierce. The Raiders beat the Giants 30-6 at home in Week
24 Tennessee Titans

Tennessee Titans logo

+30000 The Tennessee Titans were on the road in Week 9 and lost 20-16 to the Steelers on TNF. For Week 10, the Titans will be on the road again, in Germany for a matchup with the New England Patriots. Rookie QB Will Levis is 1-1 in his first two starts with the Titans. At 3-5, Tennessee is currently in last place in the AFC South.
25 Green Bay Packers

Green Bay Packers logo

+12500 Jordan Love and the Green Bay Packers took advantage of a dismantled Rams offense in Week 9. Starting QB Matthew Stafford was out and the Packers’ defense held LA to under 200 yards of total offense and just three points. Green Bay will be on the road in Week 10 to face the Pittsburgh Steelers.
26 Denver Broncos

Denver Broncos logo

+25000 Russell Wilson and the Broncos were on a bye in Week 9. They won their last game 24-9 at home vs. the Chiefs. Wilson had three touchdown passes in that game vs. Kansas City. For their next matchup, Denver will be on the road in Week 10 to face the Buffalo Bills on MNF.
27 Los Angeles Rams

Los Angeles Rams logo

+20000 Matthew Stafford was out for the Rams in Week 9 and their offense struggled mightily. They had less than 200 yards of total offense in their 20-3 loss to the Packers. Los Angeles is now 3-5 this season and their playoff hopes have quickly faded away. The Rams will be back at home in Week 10 to face Geno Smith and the Seahawks.
28 New England Patriots

New England Patriots logo

+50000 After a loss in Week 9, the Patriots have dropped to 2-7 this season. New England would have the fifth overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft if the season ended today. Their offense is one of the worst in the league and haven’t been able to complete the defense. The Patriots will be in Germany to face the Colts in Week 10.
29 New York Giants

New York Giants logo

+75000 Injuries have plagued any chance of the Giants having a successful offense in 2023. New York is now on their third-string QB after Daniel Jones suffered a torn ACL in Week 9. Backup Tyrod Taylor is already on the IR with a rib injury. The Giants have the worst scoring offense in the NFL this season and it hasn’t been easy to watch. In Week 10, New York will be on the road to face the Dallas Cowboys who are coming off a tough loss in Week 9.
30 Chicago Bears

Chicago Bears logo

+100000 Without Justin Fields, the Chicago Bears will continue to be a bottom-of-the-barrel team in the NFL. There’s no saying whether Fields would fix all their problems right now, but the shine of Tyson Bagent has quickly worn off. After a loss in Week 9, Chicago is 2-7 this season. The Bears and the Panthers will meet in Week 10 on TNF.
31 Arizona Cardinals

Arizona Cardinals logo

+150000 The Cardinals started rookie QB Clayton Tune in Week 9 and he did not play well. Arizona did not score a single point vs. the Browns. Tune had 58 passing yards and two interceptions. Luckily, the Cardinals will be getting their franchise QB back in Week 10. Kyler Murray will be making his season debut for Arizona after starting the season on the PUP.
32 Carolina Panthers

Carolina Panthers logo

+100000 In Week 9, #1 overall pick Bryce Young played arguably his worst start in the NFL. He had 173 passing yards, one touchdown, and three interceptions vs. the Colts. After that loss, the Panthers dropped to 1-7 this season. They will be on the road in Week 10 to play the Bears on TNF.

NFL Power Rankings — Week 10

Check out our NFL Power Rankings for Week 10 of the 2023 season.

32. Carolina Panthers — Bryce Young and the Panthers will play the Bears on TNF in Week 10

Carolina Panthers logo2023 Record: 1-7

Super Bowl Odds: +100000

Through the first nine weeks of the season, it’s hard to argue that the Panthers made the wrong decision when they drafted Bryce Young. The rookie has thrown for eight touchdowns and seven interceptions this season. Against the Colts in Week 9, Young had three interceptions and two of them were returned for touchdowns. Not how the #1 overall pick wanted to start his NFL career. Carolina moved up in the draft by trading with Chicago to have the first pick and it looks like they should have taken C.J. Stroud. The Texans had the #2 overall pick and took Stroud as their franchise QB. He’s thrown for 14 touchdowns and 1 interception. Proving that the Panthers might have whiffed on the first overall pick by taking the wrong player.

31. Arizona Cardinals — Kyler Murray will start his first game of the season for Arizona this Sunday

Arizona Cardinals logo2023 Record: 1-8

Super Bowl Odds: +150000

Joshua Dobbs was traded to the Vikings after the trade deadline and that left the Cardinals with a decision to make in Week 9. They decided to go with rookie QB Clayton Tune vs. the Browns. He was held under 100 yards passing, had zero touchdowns, and two interceptions. Luckily for Arizona, their franchise QB Kyler Murray is returning in Week 10. He’ll be making his season debut for the Cardinals after suffering an injury late in 2022. The Cardinals are 1-8 through their first eight games and have the second overall pick if the 2024 NFL Draft happened today. Murray will be making his 58th career start in Week 10 vs. the Falcons.

30. Chicago Bears — Will the Bears have Justin Fields on a short turnaround in Week 10?

Chicago Bears logo2023 Record: 2-7

Super Bowl Odds: +10000

The shine of Tyson Bagent has quickly worn off for the Bears. He won his first start vs. the Raiders, but Chicago has since then lost two in a row. Bagent is an undrafted rookie out of Division II Shephard University. In his three starts and one relief appearance, the 23-year-old has three touchdowns and six interceptions. Chicago was on the road in Week 9 to face the Saints. They lost 24-17 to New Orleans and dropped to 2-7 this season. The Bears own the Panthers’ first-round pick in 2024 and they also have their own selection in the first round. They’d have two top-three picks if the 2024 NFL Draft happened today. Being on a short week, the Bears might have to hold off on Justin Fields starting in Week 10. Chicago will play the Panthers on TNF in Week 10. That might not be enough time for Fields to feel comfortable returning.

29. New York Giants — Daniel Jones is done for the 2023 season with a torn ACL

New York Giants logo

2023 Record: 2-7

Super Bowl Odds: +75000

Last season, the Giants went 9-7-1 and made the postseason. They even won a game vs. the Vikings before losing in the divisional round to Philadelphia. That was their first playoff win since Super Bowl 46. Ahead of the 2023 season, the Giants tried adding to their offense in hopes of taking another jump as a team. However, injuries quickly derailed any hopes the Giants had of having a successful season. After nine games, they are 2-7 and are last in the NFC East. In Week 9 vs. the Raiders, starting QB Daniel Jones tore his ACL and he’s done for the season. Backup QB Tyrod Taylor is currently on the IR with a rib injury. That leaves undrafted rookie Tommy DeVito as New York’s starter for at least the next three games. Head coach Brian Daboll could not comment on whether Taylor will be able to return this season. Not ideal for the Giants who are averaging (11.2) points per game compared to (21.5) last season.

28. New England Patriots — The Patriots will play in Germany vs. the Colts in Week 10

New England Patriots logo

2023 Record: 2-7

Super Bowl Odds: +50000

In the past few seasons, we’ve seen the dominance of the New England Patriots slip away. They are no longer the juggernaut in the AFC and this is one of the worst teams under Bill Belichick in 20+ seasons. Through nine games in 2023, the Patriots are 2-7 this season and have a top-five draft pick if the season ended today. Mac Jones has nine interceptions, tied with three others for the most in the NFL this season. He’s also averaging a career-low (206.8) yards per game. New England is averaging (15.0) points per game in 2023, the second worst in the NFL. The Patriots will be on the road this Sunday in Germany when they face the Indianapolis Colts.

27. Los Angeles Rams — Matthew Stafford needs to return if the Rams want any chance to win this season

Los Angeles Rams logo

2023 Record: 3-6

Super Bowl Odds: +20000

Starting QB Mathew Stafford suffered a thumb injury in Week 8 for the Rams. He did not return and backup Brett Rypien made a relief appearance for the veteran signal-caller. Stafford was unable to go in Week 9 and Rypien got his first start of the season. Los Angeles failed to have over 200 yards of total offense vs. the Packers this past Sunday. Rypien had 58 passing yards, zero touchdowns, and two interceptions. Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua combined for just five catches and 80 yards in Week 9. Both  Kupp and Nacua are capable of having elite production for the Rams. If Stafford is unable to play in Week 10, Brett Rypien would be in a position to start again for Los Angeles. We’ll have to see how Stafford progresses through the week.

26. Denver Broncos — The Broncos are coming off a Week 9 bye to play the Buffalo Bills

Denver Broncos logo

2023 Record: 3-5

Super Bowl Odds: +25000

Shots were taken at Russell Wilson and the Broncos this offseason for just how bad the offense was in 2022. Denver made coaching changes this offseason and the offense has new life in 2023. All of last season, Wilson threw for 16 passing touchdowns. Through the Bronco’s first eight games, the Super Bowl champ already had 16 passing touchdowns. His yards per game are down this season, but Wilson is much more accurate in 2023. He jumped up from 60 to 66 for his completion percentage from 2022-2023. Coming off the bye, the Broncos will be on the road to face the Bills on MNF. Buffalo lost a close matchup in Week 9 to the Bengals and the Bills need to get back on track if they want to make the postseason. This matchup will be a solid test to see where both teams are at.

25. Green Bay Packers — Pittsburgh will host Green Bay for a Week 10 matchup in 2023

Green Bay Packers logo

2023 Record: 3-5

Super Bowl Odds: +12500

Jordan Love and the Green Bay Packers didn’t have much competition in Week 9 vs. the Rams. Los Angeles had Matthew Stafford out and their offense was brutal to watch. Love and the Packers did what they needed to win the game. They had 184 yards rushing and 228 passing. The first-year starter for Green Bay had one touchdown pass and it was caught by rookie TE Luke Musgrave. Green Bay is now 3-5 this season and will be on the road in Week 10 to face the Steelers. It’s not going to be an easy game for the Packers on offense. The Steelers have a top-10 defense this season, but their offense has not been able to hold their end of the bargain. However, Pittsburgh is still 5-3 this season and will give the Packers a tough game in Week 10.

24. Tennessee Titans — Will Levis could start his third straight game for the Titans in Week 10

Tennessee Titans logo

2022 Record: 3-5

Super Bowl Odds: +30000

Starting QB Ryan Tannehill injured his ankle when Tennessee was in London. When he could not return, the Titans went with backup Malik Willis to make a relief appearance. They were not thrilled with how he performed and they knew they needed to make a decision at QB. After their bye week, the Titans decided to go with rookie Will Levis while Tannehill is still out. He’s started two games for Tennessee, going 1-1 in those games. Levis won his first NFL start in Week 8 and lost in Week 9 to the Steelers on the road. The 24-year-old had four passing touchdowns in his regular-season debut and had zero last week vs. Pittsburgh. Tennesee will hope that Levis can have a better performance in Week 10 vs. the Buccaneers.

23. Las Vegas Raiders — The Raiders will be at home in Week 10 to face the Jets

Las Vegas Raiders logo

2022 Record: 4-5

Super Bowl Odds: +20000

After a disastrous game in Week 8 for the Raiders, head coach Josh McDaniels was fired after one and a half seasons. League sources detailed how McDaniels had simply lost the locker room and he was not getting through to the players. There was reportedly a team meeting where almost all the players, veterans, and rookies, shared their thoughts publicly about McDaniels. This meeting apparently broke him and owner Mark Davis felt it was time to move on. That’s exactly what the Raiders did. They rallied behind interim head coach Antonio Pierce and beat the Giants 30-6 in Week 10. The Raiders will be at home in Week 10 to face Zach Wilson and the Jets. New York is coming off a tough Week 9 loss to the Chargers.

22. Tampa Bay Buccaneers — Baker Mayfield and the Bucs will play Tennesse this week

Tampa Bay Buccaneers logo

2023 Record: 3-5

Super Bowl Odds: +15000

After starting the season 3-1, the Bucs have since lost four in a row. A 3-5 record puts them at third in the NFC South. Tampa Bay was in a position to win in Week 9, but they may have scored too early when they had the ball on their last possession. The Bucs left just enough time on the clock for C.J. Stroud and the Texans to put together a game-winning touchdown drive. It was a crushing loss for Tampa Bay who likely thought their touchdown in the last minute of the game would have sealed it. Baker Mayfield and the Bucs will be back at home in Week 10 to face Will Levis and the Tennesee Titans.

21. Atlanta Falcons — Can Taylor Heinicke help get Atlanta’s offense back on track this season

Atlanta Falcons logo

2023 Record: 4-5

Super Bowl Odds: +10000

There’s still a lot of football left to be played, but the Falcons could be in a better position than they’re in right now. The team is 4-5 through their first nine games. Atlanta has gone 2-3 in their last five and all three of those losses have been one-score games. This past week, head coach Arthur Smith made the decision that Taylor Heinicke would be starting over Desmond Ridder in Week 9. He was 21-38 for 268 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. Their loss in Week 9 was a brutal meltdown for the Falcons. They let Joshua Dobbs put together a game-winning drive vs. them in an emergency appearance for the Vikings. Atlanta’s defense was not able to hold up at the most crucial point in the game. The Falcons will be on the road in Week 10 to face the Cardinals.

20. Indianapolis Colts — Colts stay afloat with win over Panthers

Indianapolis Colts logo

2023 Record: 4-5

Super Bowl Odds: +25000

They entered the week on a three-game losing streak and in desperate need of a victory, and luckily for the Colts, they had the one-win Carolina Panthers on the schedule. Indy’s defense forced rookie quarterback Bryce Young into perhaps the worst game of his career, holding him to 173 yards and forcing him into three interceptions. The win improves the Colts record to 4-5 and keeps them breathing in the AFC, though they’ll need to pick up some wins in the next few weeks if they hope to have an outside shot at a playoff run. They’ll have three straight games against sub-.500 opponents before they see the Bengals on December 10th.

19. Washington Commanders — Howell is second in the NFL in passing yards

Washington Commanders logo

2022 Record: 4-5

Super Bowl Odds: +17500

Sam Howell began the season on the quarterback hot seat, and he was one of the favorites for which NFL quarterback would be benched first. He had a rough first few games, but the second-year man out of North Carolina has flipped a switch and is putting up impressive numbers to compete with some of the game’s best. His 2,471 yards are second to only Tua Tagovailoa, and he has more touchdown passes than Dak Prescott and Justin Herbert. The Commanders are a respectable 4-5 and have a chance for a playoff push in the wide-open NFC. They have the 5th-toughest remaining schedule in the league, though, with games against the Dolphins, 49ers, and two against the Cowboys still upcoming. They’ll take on the Seahawks this Sunday.

18. Houston Texans — CJ Stroud is a certified star and now has 14 TDs and 1 INT

Houston Texans logo

2023 Record: 4-4

Super Bowl Odds: +15000

The legend of CJ Stroud grew in Week 9, as the Texans quarterback threw for more yards in a game than any other rookie in NFL history, and added 5 touchdowns and no interceptions in Houston’s clutch victory over the Buccaneers. He now has an incredible touchdown-to-interception ratio of 14-to-1, but most importantly, the Texans are exceeding expectations and have found themselves at .500 halfway through the season. They still have a handful of winnable games on their schedule, and 3 of their final 4 games are against division opponents who currently have losing records. DeMeco Ryans is picking up traction in the Coach of the Year discussion, and the Texans have a legitimate shot at competing for a wild card spot in the AFC, or even for a division crown if the Jaguars falter down the stretch.

17. New York Jets — Jets fall flat with second place on the line

New York Jets logo

2023 Record: 4-4

Super Bowl Odds:+7500

The Jets had a chance to prove that they were a true threat in the AFC East on Monday night, and would have moved into within a half-game of first place with a victory over the Chargers. But Zach Wilson and company laid an egg, never finding the endzone and losing by a score of 27-6. The defense was still stout, keeping Los Angeles to under 200 yards of total offense, but mistakes made by the offense and special teams units ultimately spelled the demise of the Jets. They drop to 4-4 and into third place in the East and have a tough few weeks coming up. After taking on the Raiders this coming Sunday, the Jets will take on division rivals two weeks in a row the Bills and Dolphins. In your weekly Aaron Rodgers report, he was seen on the field during warm-ups throwing footballs.

16. New Orleans Saints — Up and down season continues for the Saints

New Orleans Saintslogo2023 Record: 5-4

Super Bowl Odds: +5000

The Saints are one of the tougher teams in the NFL to figure out. It has been a season of mini-streaks for New Orleans, as they won the first two games of the year before dropping four of their next five. But they’ve defeated the Colts and Bears in their last two games, and have the second-easiest remaining schedule, with their toughest remaining games being against the Lions and…Vikings. The defense is what has kept the Saints afloat, as it ranks 7th in the league overall in terms of points and yards allowed. The offense has been more up and down as New Orleans’ season has been, and they are ranked around the league average in most of the major categories. They’ll take on the Vikings this Sunday and are listed as early 2.5-point favorites. They’ll have a bye in Week 11.

15. Los Angeles Chargers — Held under 200 yards, but a win is a win

Los Angeles Chargers logo

2023 Record: 4-4

                        Super Bowl Odds: +4000

They didn’t look all that impressive on Monday night, but the Chargers were able to pick up a much-needed victory in order to remain in on the tail end of the AFC playoff race. They went up against a formidable Jets’ defense, but Justin Herbert and company were only able to muster 191 total yards of offense while the defense gave up 270 to New York’s offense which was led by Zach Wilson. But a win is a win, and the Chargers now have a 33% chance of making the playoffs in the deep and loaded AFC. They are in the middle of the pack as far as strength of schedule is concerned, but they still have to play the Bills and Chiefs around the holidays. They’ll have a tough test long before that, though, as the Detroit Lions are scheduled to come to Los Angeles this weekend for an inter-conference showdown. The Chargers are currently a 2.5-point underdog.

14. Minnesota Vikings — Josh Dobbs to the rescue, 4 straight wins for Minnesota

Minnesota Vikings logo

2023 Record: 5-4

Super Bowl Odds: +12500

The Vikings are riding high after a four-game win streak and an improbable, heroic victory led by Josh Dobbs. The quarterback took over on Sunday after joining the team mid-week when he was traded by the Cardinals, and he admitted to being in the dark on the names of certain players and certainly on the playbook. But somehow, Dobbs was able to complete 20 of his 30 passes for 158 yards and two touchdowns, including no interceptions, and used his legs to run in a third score. Minnesota was victorious yet again in the face of adversity, and is currently holding on to the 7th and final playoff spot in the NFC race. Wide receiver Justin Jefferson is eligible to return soon, though it remains unclear how the team hopes to handle his situation. After taking on the 5-4 Saints this Sunday, the Vikings won’t play against another team with a winning record until December 17th.

13. Seattle Seahawks — Seahawks run into red-hot Ravens

Seattle Seahawks logo

2023 Record: 5-3

Super Bowl Odds: +4500

The Seahawks were one of the hotter teams in the NFL in Week 9, having won 5 of their last 6 after dropping the opening game of the season. But they ran into the buzzsaw that is Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday and were unable to find the end zone in a 37-3 embarrassment. A win would have solidified their spot alone at the top of the NFC West as the 49ers have fallen in recent weeks, but they had just 151 total yards of offense and gave up a whopping 515. They have one of the tougher remaining schedules in the NFL, including a date with the Philadelphia Eagles. They’ll have multiple chances to make a move within the division as well, as they still have two dates with the 49ers coming up in November and December. They are listed as 6.5-point favorites over the Commanders for Sunday.

12. Pittsburgh Steelers — Somehow, the Steelers continue to pick up wins

Pittsburgh Steelers logo

2023 Record: 5-3

Super Bowl Odds: +800

Death, taxes, and the Mike Tomlin-led Pittsburgh Steelers being over .500. The team picked up their third win in their last four games on Sunday, improving their record to 5-3 and keeping pace with the rest of the brutal AFC North. Just how they continue to win and remain competitive is unclear, as the Steelers have the 29th-ranked offense and 31st-ranked defense in terms of yards and yards allowed. They have already completed the 4th most difficult schedule in the league so far, and have the 18th most difficult going forward, but their season will end with a brutal stretch that will likely decide their fate. Over the final three weeks,  the Steelers will play against the Bengals, Seahawks, and Ravens, the final two being road contests.

11.  Buffalo Bills — Tough loss surrounds Buffalo with questions

Buffalo Bills logo

2023 Record: 5-4

Super Bowl Odds: +1800

For about 24 hours, the Buffalo Bills were in third place in the AFC East behind both the Miami Dolphins and New York Jets. After looking like one of the Super Bowl favorites through the first four weeks of the season, the Bills have faltered heavily in recent weeks. Their only wins since Week 4 have come against the Giants and Buccaneers, both games that came down to controversial final plays that ended up going Buffalo’s way. There is still plenty of time for them to improve on their 5-4 record, but their schedule won’t be doing them any favors. The Bills have the third-toughest remaining path of any team, with games against the Eagles, Chiefs, Cowboys, and Dolphins still looming. They’ll take on the Broncos on Monday Night Football this coming week, a game they can not afford to lose. They are currently listed as 7.5-point favorites.

10. Cleveland Browns — Big divisional showdown coming up this Sunday

Cleveland Browns logo

2023 Record: 5-3

Super Bowl Odds: +3300

Depending on how you look at it, the Browns are either in second or last place in the AFC North. The most competitive division in football features three teams that are currently sitting at 5-3 and looking up at the idol Ravens, and Cleveland is one of them. Like the Jets, they have been carried by their defense so far this year, who have looked utterly dominant outside of a couple of tough games. They held the Cardinals scoreless in their last game while putting up 27 points themselves, and are in prime position for a playoff run. The next two games on their schedule will be telling, as they’ll take on divisional opponents in the Ravens and Steelers, but they only have one game against a team with a winning record before the Week 18 showdown with the Bengals. They are 6-point underdogs against Baltimore for Sunday.

9. Dallas Cowboys — Cowboys can’t hang with Eagles, drop to 5-3

Dallas Cowboys logo

2023 Record: 5-3

Super Bowl Odds: +1200

The Cowboys did what they could to prevent the Eagles from taking a commanding 2.5-game lead in the NFC East, but the top team in the NFL proved to be too much. Dallas had rebounded nicely after their embarrassing prime-time loss to the 49ers in Week 5, defeating the Chargers and Rams in consecutive games. But their next true test was against division rival Philadelphia, and they came up short in a 28-23 final. They’ve played the 8th easiest schedule in the NFL so far, and have one of the most brutal stretches imaginable through the month of December. But they have a chance to fatten up their record in November, as their next three games will come against the Giants, Panthers, and Commanders.

8. Cincinnati Bengals — The Bengals are back, and beating good teams

Cincinnati Bengals logo

2023 Record: 5-3

Super Bowl Odds: +900

It is safe to say that Joe Burrow and the Bengals are officially back. They are 5-3 and in the thick of things in the brutal AFC North, thanks to four straight victories, and three straight over top-tier opponents. It started with a win over the Seahawks, then Cincinnati defeated both the 49ers and Bills to go through one of their toughest stretches. They have risen up the ranks in terms of Super Bowl favorites, and are a couple of decisive wins away from being considered one of the favorites again. They’ll have a great chance to prove their worth over the next two weeks, as they have big games against the Texans and Ravens coming up. They are currently listed as 7-point favorites over Houston for Week 10.

7. San Francisco 49ers — 49ers remain put during idle week

San Francisco 49ers logo

2023 Record: 5-3

Super Bowl Odds: +525

The 49ers stay put at #7 in our rankings, as they were idle in Week 9. They are using the time to get healthy, as they have been bitten by an injury bug that may have something to do with them losing three straight games. They have another tough one coming out of the bye, as they will travel cross-country in order to take on the first-place Jaguars in a Week 10 showdown. They are in the middle of the pack in terms of schedule played and the remaining strength, but still have a huge showdown against the Eagles coming up, and two division-deciding contests against the Seahawks. For this Sunday’s game in Jacksonville, San Francisco is listed as a 3-point favorite.

6. Detroit Lions — Lions will take on the Chargers this coming week

Detroit Lions logo

2023 Record: 6-2

Super Bowl Odds: +1200

The Lions had a bye in Week 9, but are still considered one of the top teams in the NFL. They have won 5 of their last 6 games to put them in control in the NFC North, but that one loss was a big one. They were clobbered by the Ravens in Week 7, which was supposed to be a showdown between two teams that were looking to be vaulted into the top tier of their conference. Detroit lost 37-6, causing their stock to drop a bit, but they rebounded with a nice win against the Raiders to keep spirits high going into the off-week. They have one of the easier schedules as we advance, with two games against the Bears and Vikings, as well as contests against the Broncos and Packers. For this Sunday’s game against the Chargers, they are listed as 2.5-point favorites.

5. Jacksonville Jaguars — Showdown with 49ers on the horizon for Jags

Jacksonville Jaguars logo

2023 Record: 6-2

Super Bowl Odds: +1800

Officially the hottest team in the NFL, the Jaguars have won five games in a row, including victories over the Bills and Steelers. Quarterback Trevor Lawrence is having something of a down year when it comes to statistics, but the turnover margin has made a massive difference, as Jacksonville’s defense leads the league in takeaways with 18 so far. They have forced 11 interceptions, and their run defense ranks third in the league in terms of yards allowed. They have the 7th-toughest schedule in the NFL going forward, as they still have to play against 3 of the 4 AFC North teams. The Jaguars will start the second half of the season by taking on the 49ers this weekend.

4. Miami Dolphins — The offense slowed, but the defense looks better for Miami

Miami Dolphins logo

2023 Record: 6-3

                      Super Bowl Odds: +1200

It looked as though the Dolphins were going to be embarrassed by the Chiefs in Germany on Sunday morning, but a 21-0 halftime deficit was closed enough for Miami to have a shot at tying the game in the final seconds. But Kansas City came out on top and dropped Mike McDaniel’s team to 6-3 on the year. They are still in first place in the AFC East given the results for the Bills and Jets, and will have at least a share of the lead coming out of their bye week. They have the 10th toughest remaining schedule of any team, though their most difficult stretch won’t start until late in December. Their game coming out of the bye week will be a home contest against the Las Vegas Raiders.

3. Baltimore Ravens — Are the Ravens the top team in the AFC?

Baltimore Ravens logo

2023 Record: 7-2

Super Bowl Odds: +900

They are tied for first place overall in the AFC, and their track record may be more impressive than Kansas City’s. Two of their last three wins have been decisive, dominant victories over formidable NFC opponents in the Seahawks and Lions, and they’ve already taken care of the Browns, Bengals, and Texans as well. And while they have positioned themselves atop the rugged AFC North, Baltimore has the toughest remaining schedule of any team in the NFL. But Lamar Jackson is playing at an MVP level, and much of the remainder of the season rests on his health and production. The Ravens will take on the division rival Cleveland Browns this coming Sunday, whom they have already beaten this season by a score of 28-3. They are listed as 6-point home favorites.

2. Kansas City Chiefs — Massive game with Eagles looming after bye week

Kansas City Chiefs logo

2023 Record: 7-2

Super Bowl Odds: +525

Travis Kelce was held to 14 yards and the Chiefs offense scored just 14 points, but Kansas City was able to come out with a big victory over the Miami Dolphins in Germany on Sunday. It was a bounce-back game after their ugly performance against the Broncos a week earlier, and it keeps them on par with the Ravens for the best record in the conference. They enter their bye week on a high note and will look to improve on their 2.5-game lead in the AFC West when they return in Week 11. Their first opponent will be the Philadelphia Eagles, which will be one of the premier games of the season and a likely Super Bowl preview.

1. Philadelphia Eagles — Best record in the NFL, top spot in the rankings

Philadelphia Eagles logo
2023 Record: 8-1

Super Bowl Odds: +550

The Eagles have the best record in the NFL, and therefore the top spot in the power rankings. Their only loss of the season came, perhaps surprisingly, at the hands of the New York Jets, and Philadelphia now sits at 8-1. Their latest victory came against the division rival Cowboys, which kicks off one of the more brutal stretches that any team will endure this season. They will enjoy a bye in Week 10, with their next five opponents being the Chiefs, Bills, 49ers, Cowboys, and Seahawks, in that order. They will have to find a way to win a majority of those games in order to keep their spot at the top of the NFC, though they will come out of their off week a full game up on the conference in the worst-case scenario.
